Vacuums are inarguably one of the four horsemen of the apocalypse Black Friday. But while Black Friday is one of the best times of year to buy a vacuum, you don’t have to wait until the day or two preceding Black Friday to find a good deal. That’s because retailers like Walmart and Target remind us every year that Black Friday season is basically just the entire month of November. Best Buy and Amazon somehow managed to hold off on kicking off their official Black Friday sales until Nov. 17 — but let’s be real, they’ve been dropping Black Friday-level deals for weeks.
Whether you’ve been drooling over a Dyson all year or are looking to hand off the act of vacuuming completely by opting for a robot vacuum, there’s probably an early Black Friday deal for that. Compared to the Roomba j7+, the j5+’s obstacle detection cameras aren’t quite as precise, and still may require you to pick up things like towels or socks, or put a virtual barrier around pet bowls. But to be able to skip skimming the floor for rogue cords and enjoy automatic emptying for less than $500, you can probably deal with ensuring laundry gets into the basket. As for the mopping, this is one of iRobot’s new Swap and Mop models, which does require you to be home to physically click on the water tank when you want to mop.
