Fresh details concerning the Samsung Galaxy Z TriFold foldable phone have emerged from a couple of reputable sources.
We’ve been burned by release date predictions for Samsung’s forthcoming double-hinged foldable before, but this one seems legit.
It comes from South Korea’s paper of record, The Chosun Daily, which asserts that Samsung will finally release its TriFold foldable on 5 December.
The company is now “finalising preparations, including a public unveiling event”, with sales set to commence immediately after the launch.
Samsung Galaxy Z TriFold details confirmed
The eagle-eyed among you will have noted that we just started referring to this device as the Samsung Galaxy Z TriFold. That’s because a second reputable source has just confirmed a bunch of details, including the name.
Leaker royalty Evan Blass has taken to X with a bunch of “confirmed details”. These include the “final retail branding” as the Galaxy Z TriFold.
He also confirms that the TriFold will pack a 6.5-inch cover display and a 10-inch internal screen, with peak brightnesses of 2600 and 1600 nits respectively.
Interestingly, the three distinct ‘leaves’ of the phone will vary in thickness: 3.9, 4.0, and 4.2mm.
The main camera will use a 200Mp sensor, which sounds a lot like that of the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 and indeed the Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra to us.
The battery capacity will be 5,437mAh, which is a lot healthier than the aforementioned Galaxy Z Fold 7 (4,400mAh).
That final line references an unspecified Snapdragon processor, so we don’t know whether it’s going to be the new Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 or the older Snapdragon 8 Elite seen in those aforementioned phones.
