They were actually doing a solid job on Finn Allen, who leads the six count and will almost certainly rise to the summit of the runs leaderboard on Sunday, before he finally cracked Mitchell Starc.
Allen made just 19 off his first 17, but ended with 49 from 30. Although the Scorchers have five BBL titles to their name, Allen is out to secure his first. Starc vs Allen is one of two absorbing head-to-head showdowns on the cards at Perth Stadium, after Mahli Beardman’s dismissal of Smith.
