Samsung launched the Galaxy Xcover 6 Pro rugged phone in June 2022. The rugged phone is available in markets like Europe and others but didn’t make its way to India. The South Korea-based tech giant is reportedly working on the smartphone’s successor, the Galaxy Xcover 7. The leaked renders of the smartphone have already made rounds on the internet. The rumoured rugged smartphone has also been spotted on Geekbench.

According to a report by GizmoChina, Samsung is planning to launch the Galaxy Xcover 7 rugged phone in India. If the rumours are to be true, this will be the first rugged phone from the company to be launched in the country. In a post on social media platform X, a tipster claimed that the Galaxy Xcover 7 was listed on the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) website with the SM-G556B model number. The smartphone will come with the Galaxy Xcover 7 moniker in India.

Just like its predecessor, this smartphone may also feature a user-replaceable rear panel like its predecessor. Meanwhile, the rumoured smartphone will also comply with military standards like MIL-STD-810H and will come with an IP68 rating for dust and water resistance.

The smartphone’s Geekbench listing suggests that it will be powered by the Dimensity 6100 Plus chipset, which will be backed by 8GB of RAM. The Samsung Galaxy Xcover 7 is expected to run Android 14.

Rumours claim that the Xcover 7 may bear some resemblance to the upcoming Galaxy A55 which comes with the SM-A556B model number. The Galaxy A55 smartphone is likely to come powered by the yet-to-be-released Exynos 1480 chipset.
