Netflix’s series about the British royal family is coming to an end. Season six will also be the last – the show’s creators have decided not to present the most recent events from Windsor’s history.
Viewers must bid farewell not only to Queen Elisabeth and her family, but also to the masterfully executed production that has captivated fans with its performances, costumes and set design.

Which years will be covered by The Crown season 6?
Season 5 ended in 1997, with Tony Blair becoming Prime Minister of the UK, the handover of Hong Kong, and the decommissioning of the Queen’s beloved ship, the Britannia. In the season finale, Princess Diana accepted Mohamed Al-Fayed’s invitation to holiday in Saint-Tropez.
The new episodes will likely pick up right after that. The sixth season of The Crown will cover the events from the late ’90s to the early 2000s.

What will happen in The Crown season 6?
As you can see from the season’s first trailer, which you can check out below, the initial episodes seem to focus on Princess Diana’s post-divorce life. Her death, alongside Dodi Fayed, and its aftermath will almost certainly be the final season’s turning point.
Later episodes are likely to feature the college romance between Prince William and Kate Middleton and the cementing of the relationship between Prince Charles and Camilla Parker Bowles.
As confirmed by the creators, the series won’t show the most recent events from the royal family’s life. Season 6 won’t cover William and Kate’s wedding, nor will it feature Meghan Markle or the younger members of the Royal Family.
