Instagram and Facebook users around the world are currently experiencing a widespread service disruption. Many users are unable to access the platforms and view photos and profile pictures. The outage has affected users in India and several other countries, causing frustration and prompting users to seek alternative social media platforms to express their discontent.

Instagram, Facebook, Meta, Messenger not working

Meta, led by Mark Zuckerberg, acknowledged the issue and expressed their commitment to resolving it. “We are aware that some users are experiencing difficulties accessing our services. Our team is actively working to address this,” stated Meta spokesperson Andy Stone in a post on the X social media platform. In India alone, over 19,290 reports of outages have been logged, with the majority of problems concentrated in major cities. Users in Australia, Brazil, Canada, the United Kingdom, and the United States have also been impacted by the outage.

Meta’s Admin Center and Device Manager have been labeled as experiencing technical issues, which is likely the cause of the disruption. Users are turning to other social media platforms, such as X (formerly Twitter), to confirm if Instagram and Facebook are indeed down. On X, users are reacting to the outage with humorous memes and expressing their frustration with the situation.

Users encountered widespread technical problems while accessing social media services. Facebook users were logged out and faced error messages when trying to log back in. Instagram users also reported that their feeds were not refreshing. Even Meta’s Messaging platform and Threads app were affected by the outage.

Meta has acknowledged the issue and stated that they are actively working on resolving it. However, until services are fully restored, users will have to rely on alternative social media platforms to connect and share content. As the situation continues to unfold, users are anxiously awaiting updates from Meta to understand the cause of the disruption and when they can expect services to be back to normal.
