Chinese smartphone maker Xiaomi expanded its tablet lineup with the Pad 6 series which was launched in India in June. The company is now reportedly working on the tablet series that will succeed the Xiaomi Pad 6 lineup. The Pad 7 series in China is also expected to include two models — the Xiaomi Pad 7 and Pad 7 Pro.

According to a report by GSMChina, a few details about the Pad 7 Pro have been revealed which were spotted in a Mi Code. The report claims that the upcoming tablet model is codenamed “sheng,” which means a musical instrument in Chinese. Historically, Xiaomi has used musical instrument names as codenames for its Pad series tablets.

Xiaomi Pad 7 Pro: What to expect
As per the report, the device carries the model number “N81A” and is expected to feature a 10-inch panel manufactured by Tianma. The Xiaomi Pad 7 Pro is likely to feature an LCD panel that may support a resolution of 1480×2367 pixels and a 144Hz refresh rate. In comparison, the Xiaomi Pad 6 Pro sports an 11-inch display.

The latest rumours align with earlier speculations made by Digital Chat Station which says that the Xiaomi Pad 7 Pro may come powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset. Just like its predecessor. the upcoming tablet is expected to feature a quad-stereo speaker system. The tablet is also likely to run Xiaomi’s latest Android 14 HyperOS.

The report also notes that just like its predecessor, the Xiaomi Pad 7 Pro may remain restricted to the Chinese market and may not be launched outside the country. The company is yet to officially announce the upcoming tablet. Meanwhile, Xiaomi is set to launch the Redmi K70 series smartphones along with a variety of other products during its November 29 event.
